Britcar Weekend finishes in disappointment

A blown engine in the qualifying session of Saturdays Britcar Endurance race at Silverstone saw the NGMSport Mosler of Javier Morcillo and Manuel Cintrano out of the race before it had even begun. Having missed the previous round due to prior commitments for driver Cintrano, the team was ready for what would be the biggest Britcar entry list of the year.

Following a successful test the previous day there was a confident mood in the garage and with no issues in warm up Manuel took the car out to bank some qualifying laps. Handing over to Morcillo mid way through the session, the Spaniard secured P3 with more still to come from the Mosler but problems with fuel and oil pressure saw the car stranded out on track waiting for a tow back to the pit lane.

It didn't take long for the team to diagnose the problem and the car was reluctantly retired from the race. With a month before the next race at Brands Hatch the team are confident of getting the car back out on track and repeating the success they had at the Kent circuit in the final race of 2016.

It wasn't all bad news this weekend as a small contingent of the team had ventured across the North Sea to Zandvoort with Pete Fisk and his Ferrari 550. Despite a weekend marred by heavy rain, Fisk continued his run of good results with a win and two second places at the Italia at Zandvoort event on the Dutch coast.
