Brands Hatch Qualifying Report.

Qualifying for the Dunlop Britcar Endurance championship was a wet affair with Javier Morcillo having to work hard to grab provisional pole position. It took 14 laps of the Brands Hatch Indy circuit for Morcillo to get a comfortable 0.8 second lead at the top of the timings before handing over to Manuel Cintrano.

It wasn't to be enough though as the Raw Motorsport Radical RXC snuck ahead by 0.178 seconds and the FF Corse Ferrari 458 GT3 of Mason and Lockie then taking P2. The final minutes of the session proved tense as Ross Wylie attempted to get the pole for the championship leading MJC Ferrari 458 GTE but traffic on the tight circuit meant he couldn't move up the grid and P3 was confirmed for the NGMSport Mosler.

"It was very difficult, very greasy and hard to get temperature into the tyres but it was great fun", said Morcillo after the session. "I'm happy with P3 and happy to be within 1/10th of the leaders because in the end it is more a matter of pride more than anything else and the race will be very close."
